For puppies and kittens, a wellness exam is recommended monthly, coinciding with their puppy and kitten vaccinations. Once they reach adulthood, healthy adults are checked once a year, which usually coincides with their annual vaccine booster. Pets age faster than humans do, so for healthy seniors, an examination every 6 months is ideal to ensure that we pick up on any health issues early.
During your pet’s wellness exam, our veterinarians will perform a thorough physical examination of your pet.
Following the physical examination, we can provide recommendations to optimise the health of your pet, such as vaccinations, parasite prevention, or further screening tests (e.g., blood tests or medical imaging) that are relevant to your pet.
We will also be able to answer any concerns that you may have regarding your pet’s diet, appetite, exercise, behaviour, dental/grooming care and other healthcare needs.
If your pet has received medical care at another clinic, do bring along any medical records or test reports with you, as this will help to avoid repeating tests that have already been done and allow us to follow up on any medical conditions that were previously diagnosed.
If you have queries about your pet’s diet, medication, or supplementation, do take pictures of these items so the vet can review them. Take some time to think about any questions you may have regarding your pet’s health, so we won’t miss out on anything on the day of the wellness exam.
