Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery encompasses a wide range of procedures involving internal organs, the body wall, masses or tumors, and hernias or defects. In other words, these procedures include everything not related to bones, joints, muscles, or the neurological system.

Some examples of advanced soft tissue surgeries offered in veterinary practice include:

• Surgeries involving the liver, kidney, digestive tract (stomach, intestines, pancreas), bladder, and prostate.
• Thoracic/airway surgeries such as laryngeal tie back, lung lobectomy, and thoracic esophageal surgeries.
• Correction of Brachycephalic airway obstructive syndrome (BAOS).
• Various oncological and reconstructive surgeries, including radical resection of tumors and reconstructive skin flaps.
• Surgeries for chronic conditions such as total ear canal ablation and bulla osteotomy for end-stage ear disease and subtotal colectomy for constipated cats.
