BSc. BVMS, Hons (Murdoch), CVCHM (IVAS)
Special Interest: Dermatology, Feline Medicine, Soft Tissue & Orthopaedic Surgery, Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nutraceutical & Dietary Therapies.
Dr Tan joined the Mount Pleasant Veterinary Group since graduating from Murdoch University, Australia in 1996. He completed a 1-year Post-graduate Surgery program at the Centre for Veterinary Education, University of Sydney in 2006 and went on to complete a Surgery Workshop organised by the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) in 2008. Through the years, Dr Tan has developed a strong interest in Surgery, Dermatology, Geriatric care, Dietary Therapy and Preventative medicine. He also eschews the benefits of nutrition and nutraceuticals in disease prevention, and is a firm believer in the adage, ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’. When he observed that more companion pets are afflicted with chronic diseases and the deficiency of western medicine in managing these patients, he went on to pursue a Certification Course in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 2012. He has since started a herbal pharmacy and regularly integrates Chinese herbs and dietary therapy into his patients’ therapeutic plans. During his free time, he enjoys travelling, running, DIY up-cycling projects and time off with his family.

She has a keen interest in Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology and has completed the Post-graduate Ophthalmology program with the Centre for Veterinary Education, University of Sydney in 2013. She enjoys interacting with clients and is most contented seeing her patient’s health improve, more so if she could motivate her clients to play an active role in the process. She relaxes by meeting up with friends in her free time, travelling and exercising.

In 2015, he graduated from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) Australian Veterinary Acupuncture Course, and has since been using acupuncture as an adjunct modality of treatment for his patients. Besides work, he enjoys working out at the gym, listening to music and spending time with his family.
